Audio Connection

You can use a microphone connected to the mike input on your computer but for the best quality it is recomended you use a professional audio interface Like the Behringer FCA202 Plug the audio output from your mike mixer or camera into the line input of the interface. Run a Firewire cable from the interface to your computer. If your computer doesn't have firewire you can use a PCMCIA card for a laptop or a PCI Card for your desktop. You can use a USB Audio Interface the same way. Be sure to install any drivers required. It is esential that the computer's operating system recognizes your hardware.

Video Connection

If you are using a Digital camera or camcorder just run a firewire cable from the DV port on the camera to the firewire input on your computer. If you are using the Behringer Interface as recomended above, it has an extra 6pin firewire jack you can use. If you use a Webcam or other USB camera that is fine as long as the proper drivers are installed.

Broadcast Instructions

Once you get audio and video connected to your computer, you can get access to the test channel here:

http://depositionwebcast.com/test/

The broadcast console looks like the picture below. An Adobe Flash application will ask permission to access your mike and camera. After you allow that, you should see messages on the right side about progress in connecting to the server. Once a connection is established, You should see the camera picture on your screen and sound activity on the VU meter. If not be sure both "Video Broadcast" and "Audio Broadcast" are checked on the lower left. Be sure the correct "Video Source" and "Audio Source" are selected in the lower center. If you don't see your camera and sound source listed in the selection menus then the computer isn't recognizing them. If you are still having trouble refresh your web browser and/or restart your computer. Once all that is working just click "Start Broadcast" and you are on the air. You can view the webcast at:
