How to setup Microsoft Media Producer 9 for a webcast

If you don't have Media Producer 9, get it here and install it (Windows XP required).

Plug a IEEE 1394/Firewire cable into your camera and into the port of your computer. If your computer doesn't have a Firewire port you will need an adapter card.

Now run the program

The first time you run the program you will probably get the "New Session Wizzard" screen. If not select "New Session" from the upper left corner of your screen. When you see the display below, select "Broadcast a Live Event" then click "Next>"

Your camera should already be selected as the Video and Audio device. If you have other capture devices on your computer you may see them as well. If so be sure to choose the camera you will use for the webcast. Then click "Next>"

The next screen is very important. You should write down the "URL for Internet connections". It will be something like " http://192.234.0.5:1024 ". You can also select and copy it for later pasting.
